The Northwest League’s second half has given the Everett AquaSox a second chance. Everett was the worst team in the league (11-27) during the first half, but the AquaSox now lead the North Division. The prize for winning the second half will be a best-of-3 divisional playoff matchup against the Spokane Indians, who are in last place for the second half but won the first half.
2: Just because Furney’s WSU career is over doesn’t mean he’s done with those types of kicks, of course. In fact, he just finished his first game since graduating in style, hitting what ended up being the game-winner in the Jets’ preseason opener on Thursday.

The Gonzaga-Washington men’s basketball rivalry will return in the 2016-17 season, the schools announced Monday. It’s a four-year, home-and- home agreement. The teams last met in Dec., 2006, with GU winning 97-77.
It sounds like GU coach Mark Few and UW counterpart Lorenzo Romar ironed out most of the details over the weekend in Las Vegas.
