Nicholas Knapton, P.S. has hired Amanda Stilwell and Jessica Doty as support staff. Stilwell was previously with Northwestern Mutual and Doty was with Café Rio. The firm has also promoted Wendy Underhill from support staff supervisor to firm administrator.

Construction

Baker Construction and Development has promoted Brian Valliant to senior vice president for construction services. Valliant has been with Baker for 10 years and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Finance

Brooke Hawley, senior consultant - client relations with RBC Wealth Management, was given the Award of Excellence in recognition of her work in building relationships with her clients and providing outstanding service.

Numerica Credit Union’s business services department received the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Mutual Group’s and CUNA Lending Council’s Excellence in Lending Award for Business Lending. This award recognizes credit unions that have implemented outstanding lending programs and demonstrated sound financial performance.

Health care

Brijal K. Dave and Liqun Yin have joined Incyte Diagnostics as hematopathologists. Dave and Yin are both board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematology. Dave completed a fellowship in surgical pathology and hematopathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston. Yin completed a fellowship in hematopathology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Law

John T. Drake and Rachel M. Proctor have joined the Spokane office of K&L Gates, LLP as associate attorneys. Drake practices commercial disputes and IP litigation. Previously, he was a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Thomas O. Rice of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. Proctor is a member of the Energy, Infrastructure and Resources practice group. Her practice focuses on electric and natural gas utility law issues with an emphasis on transactional matters. Previously, she was an associate at a local firm.

Marketing

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions has named Cody Chambers as a recipient of the 2014 Spirit Award, a prestigious award within the worldwide attractions industry. Chambers is the marketing and sales assistant at Triple Play in Coeur d’Alene. She was selected out of approximately 100 entries worldwide.

Miscellaneous

Bruce Schuh of Coeur d’Alene Tractor has been elected to serve on the 2014-2015 National Dealer Advisory Board for Kubota Tractor Corp., representing the Western Division. Schuh was elected by his peers to serve a two-year term.

Nonprofit

• Amy Shives has been appointed to the 2014-2015 Alzheimer’s Association National Early-Stage Advisory Group. Shives is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Inland Northwest Chapter and serves on the chapter board. She is also a Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee member and team captain.

• Associated Industries announced its 2015 officers as follows: Bill Robinson, chairman; Brandon Tanner, vice chair; Cam Buffington, secretary/treasurer; Mark Kammers, immediate past chair. New members of the board of directors are: Kevin Cox, Pat DeVries, Randy Kembel, Don Poffenroth and Christine Smith.

• SKILS’KIN has hired Mark London as a business development specialist. London has extensive experience in business development and advertising management. He served in similar roles for Cosmonaut Creative, Robert Half Technology, Darwin Networks and Paul Allen.

• Stacey Cowles has been named the recipient of Leadership Spokane’s first Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to Leadership Spokane and leadership in the Inland Northwest. Cowles is a 1991 graduate of Leadership Spokane.

Brittany Pugsley and Katie Grimm have joined Keller Williams Realty Spokane. Grimm was previously a loan officer at Spokane Teachers Credit Union.
