Nicholas Knapton, P.S. has hired Rachael Carlisle and Lexie Schultz as staff accountants. Carlisle was previously with Banner Bank and Schultz was with Krueger Sheet Metal. The firm has also promoted Viktoriya Malko from staff B accountant to senior accountant.

Education

The Corporation for National and Community Service recognized Whitworth University in the categories of General Community Service and Community Service in Education on the 2014 President’s Honor Roll. In addition, Whitworth has been named a “Best Christian Workplace” among higher-education institutions based on a national survey of employees conducted by the Best Christian Workplaces Institute.

The University of Idaho Prichard Art Gallery has received a $10,000 Challenge America grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Challenge America grants are given to extend the reach of arts to underserved populations.

Gonzaga University has received recognition of its work in civic engagement and community service from several organizations. The university received the 2014 Pinnacle Award from the Raikes Foundation in recognition of high quality out-of-school programs, and the 2015 Best Practices Award from the Dalton Institute in recognition of the university’s spring break service immersion program. In addition, the university has been named to the 2014 President’s Honor Roll in the categories of General Community Service and Community Service in Education by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

The American Association of Nurse Practitioners has named Deborah Smith as a recipient of the 2015 Nurse Practitioner State Award for Excellence. Smith is a senior lecturer in Gonzaga University’s School of Nursing and Human Physiology.

Engineering

Trindera Engineering has hired Frank Garcia as a recruitment coordinator. Garcia has more than 15 years of experience in employee relations and recruiting and was previously a senior workforce consultant at the Idaho Department of Labor.

Finance

Kyle Hendricks has joined Inland Northwest Bank as a senior vice president and commercial loan officer. Hendricks has more than 25 years of commercial banking experience and was previously with Idaho Independent Bank.

Rick Seidel has joined Numerica Credit Union’s Lyons branch as the branch manager. Seidel was previously the branch manager at Numerica’s Airway Heights branch. In addition, Michelle Grabicki has been named vice president of corporate culture at Numerica. Grabicki was previously vice president of branch administration and has been with the credit union since 2001.

Insurance

Jody Hawley and Michelle Heyn have joined the offices of Farmin, Rothrock & Parrott as commercial insurance managers. Hawley was previously with Moloney & O’Neill and has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry. Heyn has 17 years of experience as a commercial insurance manager and was previously with The Truck Insurance Office and Marsh.

Law

Geana Van Dessel has been named a partner in the Spokane office of Lee & Hayes, PLLC. Van Dessel has been with the firm since 2013 and is a member of the firm’s litigation practice group. She serves as a Lawyer Representative from the Eastern District of Washington to the Ninth Circuit Judicial conference, a trustee for the Spokane County Bar Association and a board member for the Volunteer Lawyers Program.

Nonprofit

The Inland Northwest Community Foundation has hired Chris Dahlvig as a controller. Dahlvig has more than 15 years of accounting experience. Previously, he served as finance director at Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

Sales

Don Gorder has been named sales manager of Wendle Infiniti. Gorder has been with Wendle Motors for more than 14 years. He has 43 years of experience in the auto industry.
