Cal knocks off top-ranked Arizona

Justin Cobbs hit a step-back jumper with 0.9 seconds left, and California stunned No. 1 Arizona 60-58 on Saturday night in Berkeley, Calif., to hand the Wildcats (21-1, 8-1) their first loss of the season.

Cobbs dribbled to his left and beat Nick Johnson, then pulled up in front of a defender to sink the winning shot that sent a raucous, crowd spilling onto the court. The court had to be cleared before the final play.

Gabe York’s full-court pass was knocked down after the timeout, and the Bears (15-7, 6-3) beat a top-ranked foe for the first time since 1994, when they beat UCLA.

Colorado 79, Utah 75 (OT): Xavier Talton added five of his 14 points in OT, including the go-ahead 3-pointer to start the extra period, and the Buffaloes (16-6, 5-4) overcame a 12-point second-half deficit to beat the visiting Utes (14-7, 3-6).

Stanford 76, Arizona State 70: Dwight Powell matched his season high with 28 points, helping the Cardinal (14-7, 5-4) beat the Sun Devils (16-6, 5-4) in Stanford, Calif.

Oregon 78, USC 66: Joseph Young scored 21 points, including a key 3-pointer that touched off a 12-0 Ducks run in the second half, and Oregon (15-6, 3-6) defeated the Trojans (10-12, 1-8) in Eugene.
