Tyrone Wallace scored 20 points, Justin Cobbs finished with 18 points after hitting some big shots late and visiting California beat Bay Area rival Stanford 69-62 on Thursday night in the Pac-12 opener for both teams. Richard Solomon added 14 points and 13 rebounds to power the Golden Bears inside after Stanford big men Dwight Powell and Stefan Nastic fouled out in the final minutes. … Damyean Dotson stole a pass from Dallin Bachynski and raced untouched for a breakaway dunk with 1 second left in overtime and No. 10 Oregon remained unbeaten with a 70-68 victory over Utah in Salt Lake City. Richard Amardi had 14 points and Dominic Artis added 12 for the Ducks who are off to their best start since winning 13 straight games to open the 2006-07 season. … Josh Scott, Askia Booker and Jaron Hopkins all scored 13 points, and No. 20 Colorado hung on to beat Oregon State 64-58 in Corvallis, Ore. Scott had 10 rebounds for Colorado, which matched its best start since the 1979-80 season when the Buffaloes also opened 12-2.

Lane, who is playing only one season at Pepperdine as a graduate transfer from UCLA, also blocked four shots for the Waves, off to their first 3-0 conference start since 2009-10. … Cole Dickerson scored 20 points and gathered eight rebounds to lead San Francisco over visiting Loyola Marymount 75-61. USF got 16 points from Avry Holmes, while Matt Glover added 12 points and 11 boards. The Dons shot 48 percent from the floor, including 8 of 18 (44 percent) from beyond the arc. … Thomas van der Mars scored 18 points and had 13 rebounds to lead Portland to a 72-64 win over Pacific in Portland. The Pilots used a 9-1 spurt late in the first half to take a 35-28 advantage into the break, then had to hold off a second half challenge by going 7 for 9 from the foul line in the final minutes to secure the win.
