The Inland Empire Gardeners host “How Green is My Valley,” this year’s tour of Spokane Valley gardens. Garden-related vendors, music and art, and barbecue lunch available for purchase from O’Doherty’s BBQ.

6: Remembering Expo ’74

Celebrate the Garbage Goat’s 40th birthday and enjoy free music, 74-cent hot dogs, reminiscing about Expo and looking ahead to the park’s future.

When: Saturday, various activities scheduled throughout the day, including: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., free guided history tours leave every hour from the Clocktower; 2-6 p.m., 93.7 Mountain Country in the Park concert; 8 p.m., Tops in Blue, a U.S. Air Force ensemble concert in the Lilac Bowl. Those cheap hot dogs are available noon to 5 p.m. at the Fountain Café and Pavilion Restaurant, and the goat will be feted at 2 p.m.
