Cab driver robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday
Spokane police are searching for the man suspected of robbing a cab driver at gunpoint Wednesday at 4 a.m. in East Central.
The cab driver told police he initially thought the robber was an approaching customer, until the man displayed a handgun. The robber ran from the scene, near Fourth Avenue and Ferrall Street, with an undisclosed amount of money, a news release from the police department said.
The cab driver described the suspect as a white man in his 20s or 30s, about 5’ 5” with a medium build, wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Police set up a perimeter and used a police dog to track the robber but could not find him. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
