BASKETBALL: Lance Stephenson made a 33-footer jumper off the glass in double overtime to lift Charlotte to a 122-119 NBA victory over Atlanta Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Al Jefferson scored a season-high 34 points, Gary Neal added 23 points off the bench for the Hornets. Stephenson had his first double-double with the Hornets with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
• Grizzlies hang on: Mike Conley scored 20 points and Memphis defeated the host Oklahoma City Thunder 91-89 to remain unbeaten.
• Raptors handle Wizards: Kyle Lowry had 13 points, 10 assists and a season-high 11 rebounds for his first triple-double of the season, leading host Toronto to a 103-84 victory over Washington.
• Kings top Suns in 2OT: Rudy Gay hit a turnaround jumper with 1:07 left in the second overtime, leading visiting Sacramento to a 114-112 victory over Phoenix.
• Mavericks ease by Jazz: Dirk Nowitzki had 27 points and 10 rebounds to help Dallas coast to a 105-82 victory over Utah in Salt Lake City.
• Bulls keep 76ers winless: Mike Dunleavy scored 12 of his season-high 27 points in the decisive third quarter and visiting Chicago held off a late Philadelphia rally in a 118-115 victory.
• Celtics beat Pacers: Jared Sullinger scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter and Jeff Green pulled down a big offensive rebound for Boston in a 101-98 home win over short-handed Indiana.
• Cavs bounce back: LeBron James had 22 points and 11 assists, helping the visiting Cavaliers hold on for a 110-101 win over the Denver Nuggets.
• Magic prevail over T-wolves: Rookie Aaron Gordon had six of his 17 points in overtime, and Orlando beat Minnesota 112-103 for its first home win of the season.
• Nets push past Knicks: Deron Williams scored a season-high 29 points and Brooklyn beat New York 110-99 in the first meeting this season between the city rivals.

• Warriors’ Lee set back: The Golden State Warriors say an MRI on forward David Lee showed a strained left hamstring and he will be reevaluated in two weeks.
• Davis to be released: Indiana University says basketball player Devin Davis was expected to be released Friday from a Bloomington hospital and rehabilitate from a head injury closer to his Indianapolis home. Davis was injured last Saturday when teammate Emmitt Holt hit him with a car.
• Virginia players suspended: Virginia basketball players Evan Nolte and London Perrantes have been suspended for the season-opener for violating team rules over the summer.
Coyotes oust Ducks in shootout
HOCKEY: Rob Klinkhammer and Shane Doan scored 58 seconds apart in the second period, Mike Smith made 37 saves and Mikkel Boedker got the deciding goal in the shootout, leading Arizona to a 3-2 NHL victory over the Ducks in Anaheim, California.
• Red Wings put away Devils: Niklas Kronwall scored on a lucky bounce and Detroit beat visiting New Jersey 4-2. Jakub Kindl, Brendan Smith and Johan Franzen also scored for the Red Wings, who outshot the Devils 31-17.
• Hurricanes edge Columbus: Elias Lindholm scored with 37.8 seconds left in overtime to lift Carolina to a 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets in Raleigh, North Carolina.
• Oilers win on late goal: Boyd Gordon scored with 4:16 to play to give Edmonton a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo, New York.
• Capitals get by Blackhawks: Andre Burakovsky, Marcus Johansson, and Joel Ward scored in a 4:52 span late in the second period, and Washington rallied to beat Chicago 3-2.
• U.S. beat Sweden: Hilary Knight, Emily Pfalzer and Brianna Decker scored and the U.S. women’s hockey team beat Sweden 3-0 in Kamloops, British Columbia, to advance to the Four Nations Cup final against Canada.
Kurt Busch facing assault probe
MISCELLANY: Police in Delaware say they are investigating a domestic assault allegation made against NASCAR driver Kurt Busch. His ex-girlfriend, Patricia Driscoll, said the allegations involved an incident in his motorhome at a race.
• Hamlin gets crucial pole: Denny Hamlin has won the pole at Phoenix International Raceway, where eight drivers go into the race Sunday vying for the four spots in NASCAR’s Chase finale.
• Jones wins again: Erik Jones won the Camping World Truck race in Phoenix when a power outage forced NASCAR to end the event with 24 laps left.
• Toms, Rollins share lead: David Toms and John Rollins each shot 6-under 66 to share the second-round lead in the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss.
• MLS plans dispersal: Major League Soccer will conduct a dispersal draft on Nov. 19 for the players on defunct Chivas USA. A weighted draw will be held on Nov. 14 to determine the order.
