Obituary: Madri, John R.

Age 78

MADRI, John R. Was born September 22, 1936 to Angelina Sgambati Madri and Giovanni Madri in New York City; passed away November 23, 2014.

John was in the US Army National Guard in NY from 1952-1953 in Field Artillery, in the US Air Force from 1954-1956 in the 92nd Bomb Wing.

He was the Chief of Labor and Employee Relations in the Civilian Personnel Division at Fairchild AFB.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Gonzaga University in 1978.

He was President/CEO of Global Credit Union from 1980-2003; President Gonzaga University Alumni Association 1990-1992; Board of Regents Gonzaga University April 2003-2010; Knights of Columbus 3rd degree 1955; Board of Director’s YMCA; Spokane Chamber of Commerce; American Red Cross; Spokane Valley Jaycees; Spokane Economic Development Council; Credit Union Executive Society; Defense Credit Union Council; Air Force Association; Chairman Armed Services Committee; Recipient Outstanding Young Men of America Award in 1967; Distinguished Alumni Award, Gonzaga University in 1997; Honorary Chief Master Sergeant Award 2004; D.A.

Davidson Trust Company, Board of Director’s and Chairman of Audit Committee 2004-2014.

John authored a number of articles in management publications on organizational management, labor relations and related subjects.

He served as guest lecturer at Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, Personnel Development Center, Air War College, Spokane Community College and various Spokane Businesses.

He is survived by his wife Teresa; sons: Todd (Daydra) Bauman, Travis (Brooke) Bauman; grandchildren Stephen Fettig, Austin, Alissa Bauman; sister Marilyn (Geri) Jean; nephew Peter (Christina) Jean and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25th from 2-5 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Audubon Park Methodist Church, 3908 N. Driscoll Blvd., Spokane on Wednesday, November 26th at 11:00.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane and Spokane Humane Society.
