Wrigley Field was opened again after a bomb threat prompted police to evacuate the ballpark for about an hour.

The Cubs say they received the threat after Sunday’s game and “took swift action to clear the few remaining fans, players, staff and media from the ballpark.” The team says “no evidence was found to suggest this threat was credible,” and they are working with authorities to find the person who was responsible.

Chicago Police spokesman Thomas Sweeney confirmed the threat, but declined to provide further details.

Security told the media to leave the press box right after the Cubs’ 2-0 victory over the Giants, but declined to provide a reason.

Police were seen going through the ballpark with dogs. Authorities also redirected traffic away from a street that runs behind Wrigley.

Marlins ace Fernandez sidelined

Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez has a strained right bicep tendon and is likely headed for the disabled list.

Manager Dan Jennings says Fernandez had an MRI on Saturday. He says there is no timetable for his return, but he did not rule out having him back this season.

Jennings says “We won’t put him out there until we know he is 100 percent. There is no need to push it or rush it.”

Fernandez threw 76 pitches over five innings against the Braves on Friday night and complained of shoulder stiffness on Saturday. He returned to Miami and was examined by Dr. Dan Kaplan.

The 2013 N.L. Rookie of the Year is 4-0 with a 2.30 ERA in seven starts this year. He underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2014.

Mets 3B Wright ready for games

New York Mets third baseman David Wright is ready to start a minor league rehab assignment as he works to come back from spinal stenosis.

Wright will be the designated hitter Monday night for Class A St. Lucie (Florida). He is scheduled to play in the field Tuesday.

New York general manager Sandy Alderson said after New York’s 4-3 loss at Tampa Bay Sunday that Wright will play five innings in both games.

There has been no timetable announced for when Wright could rejoin the Mets.

Wright has played in just eight games this season.

No timetable for Nationals’ Span

Injured Nationals center fielder Denard Span won’t accompany the team on its upcoming 10-day road trip and there’s no timetable for his return.

Span has been on the disabled list since July 10 with tightness in his back. He recently took batting practice and fielded fly balls but didn’t feel as good the next day and needed some rest.

Anthony Rendon, Stephen Strasburg, Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth have all returned to Washington’s active roster in the last 16 days, leaving Span as the only key piece missing from the lineup.

He has played in all but 24 games the last two years but had sports hernia surgery in December and abdominal surgery in March.
