Seacrest to Olympics

Ryan Seacrest will host NBC’s late-night coverage during the 2016 Olympics. The network said Wednesday that the “American Idol” host would take over the late-night role in Rio. He was a correspondent for NBC during the 2012 London Games. Bob Costas handled both late-night and prime-time hosting duties during last year’s Winter Olympics, made possible by the time difference in Sochi. Mary Carillo had hosted the late-night coverage the previous three Olympics. Along with hosting “American Idol” on Fox, Seacrest is host and executive producer of ABC’s “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest”. – Associated Press
