Four corners: Gonzaga

Coming up: Thursday at Santa Clara, 2 p.m. KHQ/Root; Saturday at San Francisco, 8 p.m., ESPN2

Outlook: The Zags put together solid performances in pre-Christmas routs over visiting Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount and now hope to pack that momentum on their first WCC road trip. The Broncos’ Jared Brownridge, one of the finest guards in the WCC, has had games of 44 points vs. Arizona, 36 vs. Pacific and 29 vs. Nevada. The 6-foot-3 junior averaged 19.5 points against Gonzaga last season. Eric McClellan and Kyle Dranginis are the likely defensive options on Brownridge, who will operate off a maze of screens to try to create open space. Forward Nate Kratch has doubled his scoring average from last season to 11.6 points and 9.2 rebounds. Freshman point guard KJ Feagin, who averages 4.1 assists, has contributed 10.7 points in the last six games. Gonzaga has won the last 10 in the series, but it’s rarely been easy at the Leavey Center.

Karnowski update: Center Przemek Karnowski didn’t accompany the team to the Bay Area. The 7-foot-1 senior has another round of medical appointments this week as he battles a bulging disc in his back that has sidelined him for the last eight games. The Polish native has made slight progress, but he’s still on crutches.

Gonzaga leaders
