In brief: Workshops tackle care planning

Advance care planning facilitators have scheduled 13 workshops in Whitman County today through Feb.28 to help people make important decisions for themselves and loved ones, specifically creating, writing and saving these plans.

Honoring Choices Whitman County is partnering with local libraries to put on these workshops that are for all adults.

Friends of Hospice Director Annie Pilliers said the libraries can offer the technical knowledge to help people write and save the care plans.

Today, the workshops are in Colton (12:30-2:30 p.m.), Oakesdale (4-6 p.m.) and Garfield (4:30-6:30 p.m.).

Tuesday workshops are in Endicott (3-5 p.m.), Farmington (4:30-6:30 p.m.) and LaCrosse (5-7 p.m.). Wednesday’s workshop is in Uniontown (1-3 p.m.) while Tekoa (4-6 p.m.), Rosalia (5-7 p.m.) and Albion 5:30-7:30 p.m.) are Thursday. Neill Public Library in Pullman (3-5 p.m.) has a workshop Friday along with Palouse (6-8 p.m.).

Saturday’s event is in Colfax at the Norma McGregor Room from 2-4 p.m.

Senior fair scheduled

The Corbin Senior Activity Center is having a Movin’ & Groovin’ Fair on March 14 for seniors and their families.

The event includes free massages and screenings, plus numerous information booths ranging from home health care services and computer help to funeral arrangements and energy savings.
