Dismissed Louisville dismissed senior point guard Chris Jones on Sunday, bringing an end to a tumultuous week that included a one-game suspension and subsequent reinstatement. No reason was given for Jones’ dismissal in a brief release from the school that added there would be no further comment. He was suspended Tuesday for violating unspecified team rules and did not travel with the team for the next day’s loss at Syracuse. He helped the No. 12 Cardinals beat Miami on Saturday.

Returns San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy has rejoined the team, three days after having a heart procedure. He supervised workouts for pitchers and catchers after having two stents placed near his heart on Thursday night.

Injured Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant had surgery to alleviate pain in his right foot, and the team expects him to return during the regular season. A screw was replaced from his October operation for a broken bone in the right foot.

Waived The Bucks waived center Larry Sanders, a troubled center once considered a franchise cornerstone. Sanders had been sidelined since Dec. 23 for what was first termed as an illness. He was suspended by the NBA on Jan. 16 for at least 10 games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He ended up serving a 12-game suspension.
