Area roundup: Chiefs preseason schedule released
The Spokane Chiefs announced their seven-game 2015 preseason schedule on Tuesday.
The Chiefs open at the annual Everett preseason tournament on Sept. 4, playing the Portland Winterhawks at 3 p.m.
Spokane wraps up exhibition play with its only home contest of the preseason on Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Spokane Arena against the Tri-City Americans.
The Chiefs’ 72-game 2015-16 Western Hockey League schedule will be released today at 10 a.m. Opening Night has already been announced and will take place at the Arena on Sept. 26.

WSU volleyball on TV
The Pac-12 Conference announced Washington State volleyball will have 12 matches televised during the 2015 season.
WSU’s opening Pac-12 match on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in Bohler Gym against rival Washington will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
