Obituary: Snyder, Linda Sue (Walch)

Age 54

SNYDER, Linda Sue (Walch) Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, Linda Sue Snyder, age 54, passed away suddenly at home on May 5th, 2015.

She was born August 23rd, 1960 in Spokane, Washington, the “baby” of the family with two older sisters.

She spent her childhood days on Orchard Prairie showing horses, swimming in the family pool, and snow skiing at Mt.

Spokane.

As an adult, Linda’s number one priority was her family; she was a dedicated stay at home mother and housewife who lived to raise her three children, Cassie, Tyler, and Wil.

Many throughout her life referred to her as their “second mom,” a testament to the power of her love and the goodness of her heart.

In 1978 “Linny” met Dave Spilker cruising Riverside Street downtown.

They married in 1979, going on to welcome and raise their three children on Pleasant Prairie.

Ice cream rides in the Jeep and road trips around the Northwest and Canada filled their time, as well as numerous “glamping” trips at Priest Lake with the entire family.

Together, she and Dave loved cultivating their acres and watching their kids run around the fields.

Following their separation Linda met Bo Snyder in an AOL chat room in 1995 before it was “cool.”

Clearly, it was love at first chat.

After a cross-country move from Connecticut, they married on Valentine’s Day 1997 in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

They enjoyed listening to live bands and playing video games with friends.

She loved a stiff margarita and witty jokes.

With Bo as her faithful, dedicated husband, they remained happily married for 18 years through sickness and health, for richer and poorer.

Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, and were loved by her.

Her sense of humor and smile were contagious, and she was often the first to crack a silly joke or find hilarity in small things.

She felt that age was a number and maturity was a choice, remaining young at heart always.

She is survived by her husband, Brenton (Bo) Snyder, children Cassandra (Sean) Flaherty, Tyler (Kara) Spilker, and William Spilker, grandchildren Reagan and Ryan, sisters Melodie (Dennis) Miner and Karen (Dick) Baergan, and dogs Bear, Daisy, and Penny.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Danielle, parents Duaine and Arlene Walch, grandmother Helen Deeds, and cousin Eric Dormaier.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11am on Monday, May 11th at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. Division in Spokane.
