Memorial Weekend tribute 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Monday. The Heritage Tribute Band will trace the arc of tunes written for and about railroads from the 1840s to the 1960s each day at noon and 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel; pictures and railroad memorabilia, railroad layout by River City Modelers, veterans display, aerospace display, antique and classic car display, Tree of Remembrance and refreshments in the Heritage reception room. A free family brass band concert takes place Sunday at 6 p.m. at Cross of Inspiration at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Bring your lawn chairs. Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, 508 N. Memorial Day Ceremony A musical prelude will begin at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Parking is available at the cemetery with overflow available along Ritchey Road. Seating is limited. Fallen Hero Dedication Ceremony The city of Liberty Lake and Fallen Heroes Circuit Course will be dedicating a new circuit to Spokane Valley native Army Corporal Kelly B. Grothe, a 2004 graduate of Central Valley High School who was killed May 3, 2007, in Iraq while serving with Bravo CO, 321st Engineer BN, Army Reserve. Spokane Kennel Club Dog Show Today through Sunday. There will be more than 1,000 dogs from across the country participating in events and competing for the title Best of Show. Vendors will be there all weekend with their dog-related goods. Several breed clubs and rescues will be there participating in a Meet the Breed event.
