WSU takes No. 1 USC to five sets in loss

McKenna Woodford led Washington State with 22 kills as the Cougars took the top-ranked USC volleyball team to five sets before falling to the Trojans 20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 19-25, 15-13 on Sunday in Pullman.

Kyra Holt had 19 kills and 14 digs while Ashley Vander Tuig had a career-high eight blocks for WSU (14-10, 3-9 Pac-12). Haley MacDonald added 48 assists and 10 digs.

USC (23-1, 11-1) was led by 26 kills from Samantha Bricio.

Huskies win: No. 5 Washington (20-2, 10-2 Pac-12) defeated No. 8 UCLA (18-4, 9-3) in Seattle 25-20, 24-26, 25-15, 25-20.
