Chiefs fall to Silvertips
EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips scored three third-period goals and beat the Spokane Chiefs 5-2 in a Western Hockey League game on Friday.
Graham Millar and Kevin Davis scored first-period goals to give Everett an early lead.
Spokane’s Kailer Yamamoto scored midway through the second period to cut the deficit to 2-1, but third-period goals from Everett’s Patrick Bajkov, Jake Christiansen and Remi Laurencelle put the game out of reach.
Yamamoto scored his second goal of the game on a power-play late in the third to cap the scoring.
Everett (9-5-0-1) had a 24-17 shot advantage. Silvertips’ goaltender Carter Hart stopped 15 of 17 shots while Chiefs’ goaltender Lasse Petersen stopped 19 of 24.
Spokane fell to 9-8-2-1 and remain in second place in the U.S. Division, two points behind Seattle.
The Chiefs play their next four games at the Arena, beginning Saturday against Kelowna.
