Obituary: Pettell, Winnifred
Age 92
Born February 14, 1923 in Poland.
She grew up on a vineyard in France with her parents and brother, until WWII, when they moved to Canada.
She worked at her parents restaurant in Quebec until she met her husband at a USO, and moved to the US.
She worked hard, and purchased a home while raising three children on her own.
She was wise, thrifty, tough and witty; spoke five languages, was a skilled seamstress, gardener and cook who donated to multiple charities, and fed strays.
She is now reunited with her son Tim; and is survived by her eldest son; loving daughter Laurie Pettell; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed.
A Memorial to honor Winnie will be held on Saturday November 21st, at 2:00pm, at Northwest Bible Church, Mead 3707 E. 3rd St Mead WA 464-0621.
