Obituary: Smith, Eillene I.

Age 85

SMITH, Eillene I. Eillene’s long journey is finally complete.

She joined the angels on November 2nd and is watching over us from heaven.

She is making new journeys free from her physical dis- abilities and pain.

She was born on January 9, 1930 in Ritzville, WA, the oldest daughter of Forrest and Sarah Charvat.

She married Milton N. Smith on June 29, 1947 in Ritzville.

They lived in Ritzville, Rosalia and Selah before moving to the Spokane Valley in 1961.

Eillene worked at Pasadena Park Elementary as a playground supervisor before returning to Spokane Community College to pursue her nursing degree.

She graduated in 1983 with an RN degree.

She worked for 25 years at Valley Hospital.

She had many interests that included sewing, woodworking, horseback riding, cake decorating, gardening, photography and anything else you can imagine.

She loved being with her grandchildren who learned many life lessons and spent lots of time eating chocolate with her.

Eillene is survived by her four children; Nancy (Cary) Seidel, Gary (Penny) Smith, Donna Smith and Scotty (Christy) Smith; and her sister, Ione.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Milton and her parents.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015, 2:30 pm at Hazen & Jaeger in the Spokane Valley, followed by a reception at Valley Real Life.

Forever a dog lover, the family suggests donations to the Spokane Humane Society or SCRAPS in lieu of flowers.
