Twin Lakes man injured by tree falling on his truck

A Twin Lakes man is in critical condition after a tree fell on his truck north of Rathdrum Tuesday night.

A Kootenai Electric employee discovered the man’s truck with a large tree on top of it in the 8900 block of Twin Lakes Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office press release. The driver, identified as Jordan S. Simon, 22, had to be extricated from the truck along with his passenger, 22-year-old Sheldon M. Cole-Kagele, of Spokane Valley.

Simon suffered serious injuries and is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Cole-Kagele sustained minor injuries.
