Skull found near golf course is human

A skull found by a man walking his dog near the Downriver Golf Course Thursday morning is human, said Cpl. Jordan Ferguson of the Spokane Police Department.

A news release from the medical examiner’s office said the skull belonged to an adult man who “would have died many decades ago.”

Police launched an investigation and called out cadaver dogs to search the area for more bones Thursday.

“We are working with the medical examiner’s office to determine who it belongs to,” Ferguson said.
