Nicole Miller leads NIC to women’s golf title
North Idaho College and its freshman star Nicole Miller swept top honors in the Centralia College NWAC golf tournament that wound up Monday in Chehalis, Washington.
Miller put together rounds of 78-76 for a 5-over-par 154 to claim medalist honors in a third straight tournament and lead the Cardinals a five-stroke victory over Bellevue, 491-496.
Community Colleges of Spokane, led by sophomore Hailey Warren (Mt. Spokane), who tied for second at 162, finished third at 518.
In the men’s tournament, CCS bested NIC 587-589 for second place behind Olympic’s winning 586.
NIC freshman Luke Logan tied for second at 1-over 143 and teammate Braydon Swapp was a stroke back at 144. CCS put three in the top 13 and five in the top 23 led by Branden Barnes’ 144.
