Prep roundup: Andreas Brown and Tanner Groves pace Shadle Park over CdA

Andreas Brown scored 17 points, Tanner Groves added 14 and Shadle Park cruised to a 72-56 win over visiting Coeur d’Alene on Thursday in nonleague boys basketball.

The Highlanders, who led 30-27 at intermission, ran off a 19-9 third quarter to take control. Brown went 8 of 11 at the line.

Joey Naccarato led the Vikings with 14 points and Kale Edwards added 11.

Post Falls 59, Rogers 29: All-Inland Empire League returner Jake Pfennigs scored 18 points and the Trojans (1-0) routed the visiting Pirates (0-2) in a nonleague game.

Maks Babich led Rogers with 14 points.

Pullman 96, Grandview 70: Jacob Wells scored 31 points with nine rebounds and three 3-pointers and the visiting Greyhounds (1-1) won easily in Grandview in a nonleaguer.

Jake Cillay scored 14 points with 11 boards, Cole Hawes added 12 points with eight rebounds and Jared Anderson had 11 points.

Priest River 55, Deer Park 41: Hunter Hartwig and Kobe Haggerty scored 13 points apiece and the Spartans (1-0) defeated the visiting Stags (0-1) in nonleague play.

Riley Wilson led Deer Park with 22 points.

Kettle Falls 63, Curlew 20: Freshman Mack Thompson scored 14 points and the Bulldogs beat the visiting Cougars in a nonleague match.

Cade McKern grabbed eight rebounds and Kettle Falls forced 26 turnovers in lopsided result.

Medical Lake 66, Davenport 47: Trenten Garza scored 22 points and the visiting Cardinals (1-0) topped the Gorillas (0-1) in nonleague action.

Jaden Flett and Jay Burt had 11 points apiece for Davenport.

St. Maries 69, Kootenai 34: Jacob Sieler scored 19 points with five steals and four assists to help the Lumberjacks handle the visiting Warriors in a nonleague game.

Girls basketball

Atysha Upton for lead the way with 22 points, including three 3-pointers, and visiting Rogers (1-0) upended Lakeland (0-2) 50-43 in a nonleague match.

Lakeland had the lead with less than 3 minutes left, but Rogers took advantage of costly late Lakeland turnovers.

Sofie Schnepf lead Lakeland with nine points.

Coeur d’Alene 67, Shadle Park 15: Kelly Horning scored 19 points, Rey Louden added 14 points and the Vikings (1-0) routed the visiting Highlanders (0-2) in nonleague play.

Grandview 60, Pullman 43: Michelle Ruiz scored 22 points and host Grandview handled the Greyhounds (1-1) in a nonleague game.

Caitlyn Hansen and Kelsey Nestegard had nine points apiece for Pullman.

Kettle Falls 37, Curlew 36: Jocelyn Glover’s putback with 15 seconds left lifted the Bulldogs over the visiting Cougars in a nonleague game.

Curlew used a 15-6 fourth quarter to draw even before the winner. Taylor Dunlap lead Kettle Falls with 11 points.

Priest River 39, Deer Park 36: Liz Downs made a go-ahead bucket with 10 seconds left, then sealed the game with a final-second free throw to help the Spartans (1-0) edge the visiting Stags (0-2).

Downs finished with nine points. Rachel Akre led Priest River with 19.

Davenport 55, Medical Lake 51: Sydney Abbot made four key free throws in the last few minutes to preserve a lead, Madison Abbott had 19 points with 14 rebounds and the Gorillas edged the Cardinals in a nonleague game.

Potlatch at Garfield-Palouse: Callie Ackerman scored 10 points and the visiting Loggers (1-0) beat the Vikings (0-1).

Katie Arrasmith had 11 points with 20 rebounds for Garfield-Palouse.
