Boys basketball: Pfennigs leads Post Falls over East Valley

Jake Pfennigs scored 21 points and Post Falls defeated East Valley (1-3) 65-36 in nonleague action on Tuesday.

Pfennigs offensive performance included four 3-pointers.

East Valley was led in scoring by Jeremiah Hillard with 10 points.

Freeman 60, Cheney 38: Ryan Nain scored 21 points and the visiting Scotties defeated the Blackhawks (1-1).

Michael Coumont added 17 points for Freeman. Cheney was led by Jaylen Worthem with 17 points.

West Valley 63, Lakeside (WA) 57: Collin Sather put up 19 points and Ryan Leifer nailed four 3-pointers for 12 points and West Valley (2-2) defeated visiting Lakeside (1-3).

Tristan Cox paced Lakeside with 19 points and Jacob Gifford added 17.

Chewelah 59, Cusick 31: Ryder Robinson scored 12 points and the host Cougars (3-0) defeated the Panthers (0-2).

Gavin Parrott and Nils Berger added nine points apiece for the Cougars. Cameron Cotter led Cusick with 10 points.

The Cougars were up by 10 points at halftime and continued to pull away in the second half, scoring 25 points in the fourth quarter.

Colville 68, Republic 38: Alberto Cisneros and Kobe Cunningham had 16 points apiece to help the Indians (2-1) defeat the visiting Tigers (1-1).

Colville grabbed the lead off of 10 3-pointers and never let Republic mount a comeback.

Newport 74, Priest River 39: Kobe Haggerty scored 14 points, Hunter Hartwig added 13 and the Grizzlies (1-2) handled the visiting Spartans.

Riverside 58, Bonners Ferry 55: Kooper Bower scored on a layup with 20 seconds left, Jeff Thompson added two free throws with eight seconds remaining and the Rams (1-2) rallied to defeat the Badgers.

Mikel Bias scored 14 points for Riverside. Bower finished with 11 points and T.J. Trepanier had 10.

Kaleb Stockton finished with 17 points, Elijah Price had 13 and Chris Sabin added 11 for Bonners Ferry.

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 76, Kettle Falls 23: Erik Farias led the Dragons (2-1, 1-0) with 17 points in a win over the host Bulldogs (2-1, 0-1).

Dan Rigsby had 14 points, Zac Steele scored 12 points and Noah Halliburton-Link added 11 for St. George’s. Kettle Falls was led by Cade McKern with 10 points.

Northwest Christian 65, Springdale 55: Asher Cox put up 31 points and the Crusaders (1-0, 1-0) defeated the visiting Chargers (2-1, 1-0).

Ryan Ricks added 15 points for NWC.

Springdale was led by Tyrone Dorris and Austin Howder with 19 and 15 points, respectively.

Davenport 55, Wilbur-Creston 47: Jaden Flett recorded 16 points with 10 rebounds and the Gorillas (2-1, 1-0) defeated the visiting Wildcats (0-2, 0-1).

Wilbur-Creston was led in scoring by Tucker Odegaard and Devin Magers with 14 points apiece.

Asotin 66, Tekoa-Rosalia 36: Koby Blunt had 23 points for the visiting Panthers (1-0, 1-0) in a win over the Timberwolves (1-2, 0-1).

Coby Blunt led Asotin with 23 points and Thomas Weakland added 12.

Asotin’s defense caused a lot of problems for Tekoa-Rosalia, forcing 21 total turnovers.

North Star League

Wallace 69, Mullan 33: Erik Brackebush and his 22 points helped the Miners defeat the Tigers.

Hunter Gust had 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds for Wallace.

Nonleague:

Columbia 59, Curlew 49: Riley McLain scored 19 of his 22 points in the first half to lead the Lions (1-2) over the visiting Cougars (0-3).

Darrin Bloomquist scored 11 points and Corbin Nelson added 10 points for Columbia.

Michael Mumford paced Curlew with 21 points.

Northport 54, Valley Christian 39: Aiden Middlesworth scored 23 points and the visiting Mustangs (3-1) beat the Panthers (0-3).

Northport recorded 35 rebounds and dominated the boards. Valley Christian was led by Kevin Min with 15 points.

Okanogan 43, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 35: Gage Wilson scored 14 points and Okanogan beat the visiting Warriors (1-2).

Dakota Fingar added 12 points for Okanogan. Payton Nielsen led ACH with 13 points.

Garfield-Palouse 79, Lakeside (ID) 55: Daniel Orfe had 18 points to help the Vikings (2-1) defeat the visiting Knights.

Erik Anderson had nine rebounds to lead Garfield-Palouse.

Alex Patookas had 17 points for Lakeside.

Liberty Christian 56, Oakesdale 52: Nico Shupe had 16 points, Stephen Carter had 12 rebounds and Liberty Christian edged the visiting Nighthawks (2-2) in Richland.

Kellogg 54, Sandpoint 43: Chase Jerome scored 21 points and the Wildcats defeated the visiting Bulldogs.

Tyler Gibbons added 10 points for Kellogg, which outscored Sandpoint 21-9 in the fourth quarter. Sandpoint was led by Tarin McLaughlin with 14 points, including four 3-pointers.
