Girls basketball roundup: Bozlee leads NWC’s comeback over Colfax
Rachel Bozlee had 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals and Northwest Christian erased a nine-point halftime deficit and beat Colfax 53-45 in a Northeast 2B League game Saturday at Northwest Christian.
Steffanie Kiourkas added 10 points for the Crusaders (7-6, 5-3), who used a 19-8 fourth-quarter run to complete the comeback.
Taylor Garcia scored 14 points and Ashtyn Aune added 12 for the Bulldogs (7-5, 5-3).
Reardan 40, St. George’s 36: The Indians (4-8, 1-6) responded after scoring just one point in the second quarter and beat the visiting Dragons (10-4, 6-1). Gabby Singer tallied nine points for Reardan, which outscored St. George’s 30-18 in the second half. The Dragons’ Hailey Higashi scored 16.
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 59, Kettle Falls 36: Peyton Curtis made 9 of 11 free throws and scored 16 points and the Broncos (9-3, 6-2) got out to a quick start in a win over the host Bulldogs (4-7, 2-5). Tommi Swannack added 15 points and Madi Harder chipped in 11 for LRS, which led 18-6 after the first quarter. Kettle Falls’ Taylor Dunlap had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Inland Empire 4A
Sandpoint 47, Lakeland 11: Madi Schoening scored 20 points in leading the Bulldogs (8-8, 1-0) to an easy win over the Hawks (4-9, 0-2) in Rathdrum. Riley Couch added 11 points for Sandpoint.
Great Northern
Cheney 45, Pullman 41: Haley Pemberton scored 12 points and Peyton Stark added 10 as the Blackhawks (4-7, 2-3) overcame a sluggish start and topped the host Greyhounds (4-7, 0-3). Cheney trailed 11-5 after the first quarter, but outscored Pullman 13-9 in the second and 14-6 in the third. The Greyhounds’ Kelsey Nestegard and Becca Wickard scored seven points apiece.
Northeast 1B
Republic 56, Odessa-Harrington 43: Shania Graham scored 23 points and Savannah Bowe added 11 as the Tigers (12-0, 7-0) beat the visiting Titans (2-8, 2-3). Odessa-Harrington’s Lanessa Simon and Maleah Davison scored 10 points apiece.
Cusick 60, Valley Christian 45: Jocelin Nenema scored 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds and Renee Wynne added 14 points and nine boards as Cusick (5-5, 5-3) used a hot start to get past visiting Valley Christian. Cusick freshman Nicole Stensgar, who took over point guard duties from Racheal Wynne, added 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Wynne suffered a broken ankle in the Panthers’ win over Odessa-Harrington on Friday night. A 17-9 second-quarter run gave Cusick a 33-19 advantage at the half.
Northport 50, Columbia 12: Hailey Young scored 28 points and added eight rebounds and six steals as the Mustangs (3-7, 2-5) routed the visiting Lions (0-8, 0-6). Molly Young added nine rebounds and Issie Bair added six assists for Northport.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 67, Inchelium 16: Berlyn Hunt scored 19 points and Gabi Isaak added 17 as the Warriors (9-1, 6-0) used a 21-2 first-quarter run in a win over the Hornets (2-6, 1-5) in Coulee City. Inchelium’s Randi Finley scored 11.
Southeast 1B
Pomeroy 49, Garfield-Palouse 45: Kacey Halbert led a balanced attack with 13 points and the Pirates edged the visiting Vikings (3-8, 1-5). Garfield-Palouse was led by Katie Arrasmith, who scored 26 points and pulled down 17 rebounds.
Colton 80, St. John-Endicott 44: Zoe Moser led four players in double figures with 22 points and the Wildcats (11-1, 7-0) pulled away after a competitive first quarter and beat the Eagles (6-6, 2-4) in St. John. Colton’s Meghan Devorak scored 13, MaryAnn Jacobs had 12 and Kendyl Druffel chipped in 11. The Wildcats led by just three after the first quarter, but took control with a 25-6 second-quarter run. St. John-Endicott’s Abby Glorfield scored 18.
Liberty Christian 54, Oakesdale 45: Maddie Godwin made 9 of 21 shots and scored 25 points to help the Patriots top the Nighthawks (8-4, 2-3) in Richland. Bella Loera added 12 points for Liberty Christian, which sealed the win by making 5 of 7 free throws late in the game. Oakesdale’s Anne Hockett and Jacey Johnson combined for 24 points.
Touchet 80, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 19: Sierra Joe McKeown poured in 36 points to guide the Indians past the visiting Tigercats (1-7, 0-6). Alynn Harder led LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus with nine points.

Coeur d’Alene 65, Bonners Ferry 25: Emily Callahan scored 12 points and Rey Louden added nine points, eight rebounds and three steals as the Vikings (6-6) routed the visiting Badgers (3-7). Baylie Miller added 10 points for Coeur d’Alene, which used a 23-6 second-quarter run to take control.
Timberlake 58, Newport 13: Keelie Lawler scored 18 points and Allison Kirby added 10 as the Tigers (10-0) overwhelmed the Grizzlies (3-8) at Spirit Lake. Timberlake outscored Newport 19-0 in the second quarter to take a 39-6 halftime lead.
Davenport 58, Prescott 17: Meika Heath and Sydney Zeiler scored 12 points apiece and the Gorillas (10-3) dumped the visiting Tigers. Davenport opened the game on a 25-5 run.
