Big Sky men: Idaho State upsets Weber State

Ethan Telfair scored 30 points, including the buzzer-beating winning jumper, and hit four 3-pointers as the Idaho State Bengals (8-10, 3-3) dealt the Weber State Wildcats (13-6, 5-1) their first Big Sky Conference loss, 69-68 on Saturday in Pocatello.

Weber State’s Joel Bolomboy hit a jumper with 31 seconds left to take a one-point lead. Moments later after a turnover, Telfair walked the ball up, then dribbled to the right wing, crossed-over a defender, and watched his jumper from just inside the 3-point line fall as he slid on his rear out of bounds.

Northern Colorado 84, Northern Arizona 79: Jordan Wilson scored 20 points and Jordan Davis added 17 as the Bears (7-13, 4-4) held off the Lumberjacks (3-15, 1-6) in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Northern Colorado took a 69-60 lead with 5:21 left on Anthony Johnson’s 3. But Kris Yanku scored 13 of the Lumberjacks’ next 19 points to cut the deficit to 81-79 with 25 seconds to play.

North Dakota 88, Southern Utah 72: Quinton Hooker scored 28 points, shooting 11 for 11 from the foul line, and the Fighting Hawks (10-9, 5-3) coasted to a win over the Thunderbirds (4-13, 2-5) in Cedar City, Utah.
