Kevin Durant wanted to look MVP Stephen Curry in the eye, meet Klay Thompson face to face, and find out for himself whether they truly wanted him as a teammate.

The All-Star shooting tandem made it clear during a meeting last weekend that he would be a perfect fit with the Warriors.

“When I met these guys, I felt as comfortable as I’ve ever felt. It was organic, it was authentic, it was real,” Durant said. “It was feelings I couldn’t ignore.”

Splash! Golden State had a superstar cast.

The Warriors formally announced the signing of the seven-time All-Star and four-time scoring champion on Thursday and introduced him with fanfare during a news conference at the team’s downtown Oakland practice facility, where screens read, “WELCOME KD TO DUB NATION.”

So, what’s next? Seventy-four wins and a title? Golden State’s record-setting season with the best wins total of 73 ended without back-to-back championships.

“I haven’t made the decision yet, but he might start,” NBA Coach of the Year Steve Kerr joked, sitting next to a smiling Durant. “We lost in the Finals. We want to get better. We want to be better. You can’t do any better than adding KD to the current crew.”

Among other moves and announcements on Thursday:

The Los Angeles Lakers formally announced their signings of veteran Luol Deng and second-round pick Ivica Zubac, along with the re-signing of guard Jordan Clarkson.

The Lakers also confirmed their acquisition of guard Jose Calderon and two second-round picks from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for the rights to forward Ater Majok.

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired guard Matthew Dellavedova in a sign-and-trade with Cleveland.

As part of the deal, the Bucks will send the rights to Albert Miralles to the Cavaliers. Miralles, originally a 2011 draft pick of the Boston Celtics, currently plays in the Spanish League.

The Orlando Magic signed center Bismack Biyombo, forward Jeff Green and D.J. Augustin, all free agents. Orlando also retained free agent Even Fournier.

The Washington Wizards signed center Ian Mahinmi, forward Andrew Nicholson and forward/center Jason Smith and acquired guard Trey Burke from the Utah Jazz in exchange for a 2021 second-round pick.

Manu Ginobili ended any doubt, as if there were any to begin with: The Argentinian star tweeted that he is returning to the San Antonio Spurs on a one-year deal.

The Charlotte Hornets announced they’ve re-signed Nicolas Batum, acquired Marco Belinelli in a trade with the Sacramento Kings and signed free agents Roy Hibbert and Ramon Sessions.

The revamped Chicago Bulls announced the addition of point guard Rajon Rondo.

Rondo replaces former MVP Derrick Rose, who was traded to New York before the draft. Also coming to Chicago is 12-time All-Star Dwyane Wade, who turned down a lower offer to stay in Miami and agreed to a two-year, $47 million deal Wednesday.

The Boston Celtics scheduled a Friday morning news conference, at which they’re expected to announce the signing of Al Horford.

The team agreed to a deal with the former Atlanta Hawks big man on Saturday, hours after the start of free agency. The four-year deal is expected to pay him $113 million.
