Boy, 14, takes family car for ride, crashes into house

Associated Press

KUNA, Idaho – Southwest Idaho authorities said a 14-year-old developmentally disabled boy took the family car for a ride but lost control and crashed into the front of a house.

Police in Kuna responded at about 9 a.m. Wednesday to a resident reporting a car had just smashed into the house.

Authorities said the boy fled the scene barefoot but accepted a neighbor’s offer of help and to come into her home as he had sustained minor injuries to his feet.

Paramedics took the boy to a local hospital as a precaution. No one in the house was injured.

Authorities said the crash remained under investigation and no citations or charges had been filed.
