Gonzaga University senior guard Shaniqua Nilles has no serious aftereffects from an injury suffered in the Bulldogs’ Women’s NIT game Thursday night.

“She’s doing fine,” GU coach Lisa Fortier said.

Late in the third quarter of the Bulldogs’ 88-54 win over UC Riverside, Nilles took an elbow from the Highlanders’ Michelle Curry. After lying motionless for about 10 minutes, Nilles was taken off the McCarthey Center on a gurney.

Fortier said Nilles was examined for possible fractures, but none were found, and she was released later that night.

Nilles has no physical restrictions, but her status is uncertain for the Bulldogs’ second-round WNIT game. GU will host Utah or Montana State at 6 p.m. on Monday.
