1. Free Comic Book Day: Saturday, various locations. Visit your favorite comic book purveyor and claim free comic books. Stores are hosting a variety of events, such as guest appearances, costume contests and giveaways. Participating locations include the Comic Book Shop (NorthTown Mall second floor, 4750 N. 3. Musicfest Northwest Festival Week: Sunday through May 14, Gonzaga University, 502 E. Boone Ave. The public is welcome to enjoy more than 1,000 performances by musicians of varying age and skill levels on the Gonzaga University campus and learn from the adjudicators’ comments and master teaching. 4. Holmes Heroes: A Celebration of Talent: 6 p.m. Tuesday, The Nest in Kendall Yards, 1214 W. Summit Parkway. Students from the Music Innovates program will perform a concert at The Nest (next to the Kendall Yards Welcome Center). 7. Theatre Organ Pops Concert: 7 p.m. Thursday, Spokane First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. 10. Garden Fair and Plant Sale: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, WSU Spokane County Extension, 222 N. Havana St., Spokane Valley. Sponsored by the Master Gardeners of Spokane County. It’s a garden sale with something for everyone. Find flowering annuals and perennials plus berry plants, herbs and veggies.
