Firefighters pull body from Spokane River
Spokane firefighters pulled a body from the Spokane River Thursday afternoon.
A resident of the Broadmoor Apartments on West Riverside Avenue called 911 to report seeing a submerged body in the river around 2 p.m. Thursday.
Firefighters responded on a boat and pulled the body from the bushes near Olmsted Brothers Green park about 40 minutes later.
Officials on scene said they believed the body was a woman’s, but could not confirm.
Officers from the Spokane Police Department and Spokane County Sheriff’s Office were on scene to investigate. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office will release the dead person’s identity.
