Whitworth picked fourth in NWC women’s basketball

Whitworth has been picked to finish fourth in Northwest Conference women’s basketball.

George Fox, coming off consecutive undefeated seasons in conference play, has been picked for first place in the vote of conference coaches.

Whitman was picked second, followed by Puget Sound, Whitworth, Pacific, Linfield, Willamette, Pacific Lutheran and Lewis & Clark.

The Pirates open their season Nov. 18 and 19 in their Quality Inn Classic, playing Mary Hardin-Baylor and UC Santa Cruz.
