Ominuous opening

After Washington scored on its first drive, the Cougars had a chance to respond but running back Jamal Morrow fumbled at the end of a 13-yard run. The fumble gave UW the ball on the Washington State 46-yard line, and the Huskkies quickly took a two-touchdown lead.

Pettis breaks it open

The Huskies took a 21-3 lead in the first half when Jake Browning threw a deep pass to Dante Pettis, who made the catch despite pass interference from a defender. Pettis made the contested grab while the defender fell to the ground, then ran in for the 61-yard score.

Goal-line stand

Trailing 35-17, the Cougars got the ball to the Washington 4-yard and had a first down in the third quarter. WSU was unable to score by throwing or rushing, and the Huskies stopped Gerard Wicks on fourth down at the one-yard line to preserve their commanding lead.
