Residents must clear snow, ice from adjacent sidewalks

The city is reminding Spokane Valley residents that they are responsible for clearing snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property.

The city is asking property owners in areas where there are schoolchildren walking to school or elder care facilities to be especially thorough when keeping walkways clear.

Elderly or disabled people who cannot clear snow may call 211 or (866) 904-9060 to ask for help.

Problem areas that aren’t cleared or are so covered with ice they become dangerous to foot traffic may be reported at www.spokanevalley.org/CARES or by calling (509) 921-1000 during regular business hours.
