Thieves targeting E. Washington store cash registers

The Kennewick Walmart is the latest store to be hit by a pair of cash register thieves prowling Eastern Washington.

The men are suspected of similar thefts in stores in Othello and Spokane, said Kennewick police.

In Kennewick, the thieves were checking unoccupied registers on Aug. 2 while the store was open before they found one they could get inside and stole the money.

Police did not say how the men managed to avoid being spotted in the store or how much money they got away with.
