Magnuson, McHugh and Co. have announced the hire of M.M. G. Morshed, who joins the audit an assurance team. Morshed comes to the firm from Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he was audit senior assistant.

Banking

Katy Wagnon, Kodi Clary and Alyssa Gibbar have been promoted at Washington Trust Bank. Wagnon, now public relations and communications manager, has been with the bank for seven years. Clary, now marketing communications specialist and joined, Washington Trust in 2016. Gibbar, now the bank’s event strategist, has been with the bank for two years.

Education

Alyssa Norris has been appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee as the student member of the Washington State University Board of Regents for the upcoming academic year. Norris, a senior majoring in civil engineering, has served as senator for student government, is in the Honors College and is the president of the Society of Women Engineers and the Harold Frank Engineering Entrepreneurship Institute. The Board of Regents is the university’s 10-member governing body.

Finance

Peter Sanburn, vice president of business development, and Erin Olsen, operations manager, have joined Hart Capital Management. Sanburn has 25 years of marketing expertise. Olsen has worked in the investment advisory business for 13 years.

Health

Dedra Buchwald has received the CURE Champion award from the National Cancer Institute. Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences, or CURE, provides funding opportunities for training, education and outreach for researchers in underrepresented cancer fields. Buchwald has spent more than 30 years researching Native American health.

St. Joseph’s Ear, Nose, Throat and Allergy Clinic has announced the hiring of Dr. Chad McCormick. McCormick is board certified in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
