Area girls: Jayda Noble helps Medical Lake beat Colville, finish undefeated in league

Jayda Noble scored 13 points and Medical Lake (18-2, 14-0) defeated visiting Colville (6-14, 5-9) 60-43 in Northeast A League play on Thursday.

Lexi Redell added 12 points for Medical Lake, which finishes its first-place campaign with an undefeated league record heading into regionals next week.

Leading by four at the break, the Cardinals used a 22-11 third quarter to pull away.

Colville was led by Hayden Hartman with 20 points.

Lakeside 56, Newport 33: Sienna Swannack scored 21 points with six assists and the visiting Eagles (13-7, 10-4) defeated the Grizzlies (5-15, 4-10).

Lakeside finishes tied for second in league with Chewelah, but beat the Cougars twice this season.

Hallie Jensen added 11 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Lakeside, which put up a 28-12 second half.

Newport was led by Jocelin Nenema with 11 points.

Chewelah 39, Freeman 35: Jaelinn Skok scored 15 points, including 13 in the second half, and the visiting Cougars (14-5, 10-4) rallied past the Scotties (9-11, 6-8).

Maggie Cobb added 12 points for Chewelah, which trailed 21-12 at halftime but outscored Freeman 27-14 after intermission.

Carol Ann Edwards led the Scotties with 12 points and Jenna Russell chipped in 10.

Riverside 46, Deer Park 33: Olivia Willis scored 21 points with five steals and four assists and the Rams (4-17, 2-12) knocked off the visiting Stags (9-11, 6-8).

Ava West added eight points with 10 rebounds for Riverside, which pulled away with a 17-11 fourth quarter.

Hava Fairbanks led Deer Park with 10 points.

Great Northern

West Valley 43, Pullman 42: Hailey Marlow and Grace Phan scored eight points apiece and visiting West Valley (12-8, 6-6) narrowly escaped with a win over Pullman (3-16, 0-11).

West Valley outscored Pullman 15-9 in the final quarter for the victory.

Pullman was led by Kenzie Druffel with 11 points.

Northeast 2B

Davenport 53, Kettle Falls 25: Madison Abbott scored 21 points to push the Gorillas (17-2, 13-2) past the visiting Bulldogs (4-15, 2-13).

Lainy Jacobsen also grabbed 10 rebounds while Sydney Abbott added six points and eight assists for Davenport, ranked sixth entering play in state 2B WIAA RPI ratings, which led 31-9 at halftime.

Zarah Johnson led Kettle Falls with 11 points.

Intermountain

Kellogg 51, CdA Charter 33: The Wildcats (9-9, 4-3) handled the visiting Panthers (11-9, 1-7).
