Mariners pregame: M’s look to snap the losing streak, lineups and starters
The Mariners open a seven-game homestand against the Oakland Athletics on Monday night. Seattle is looking for its first win in four games after being swept by the Blue Jays in a four-game series at Toronto.
Right-handed Yovani Gallardo will take the mound for the Mariners, who are 1-3 against the A’s this season. Seattle visited Oakland, California, in the third week of April. The M’s fell in their first three games against Oakland, before ending the four-game series with an 11-1 win over the Athletics.

This Day in Mariners History
In 2013, Seattle put up seven runs in the first inning against the New York Yankees, including a grand slam by Raul Ibanez. The Mariners went on to beat the Yankees 12-2. At 40 years, 347 days old, Ibanez became the oldest player to hit a grand slam in Yankee Stadium (both the old and the new stadium).
