Accounting

BDO USA has announced the promotion of Jon Heideman, Channing Smith and Tana Adams. Heideman, now assurance director, has been with the firm for eight years and provides assurance and internal audit services. Smith and Adams, now assurance senior managers, each have six years public accounting experience.

Education

In its annual college rankings, U.S. News & World Report ranks Gonzaga University the fourth among regional university in the West. The university’s School of Engineering and Applied Science was tied for 19th among engineering programs in the nation.

In the same list of rankings, Washington State University’s Carson College of Business was ranked in the top 110 business schools in the nation. The undergraduate business program ranked sixth among public universities nationwide and 14th overall.

Nonprofit

Inland Northwest Land Conservancy has hired David Schaub as executive director. He comes to the nonprofit from Energetic Futures and is a board member of the Dishman Hills Conservancy and the Spokane County Parks Advisory Committee.

Utilities

Kenna Tornow has been hired by the Pend Oreille County Public Utility District as communications and public contracts manager. Tornow comes from Gallatin Public Affairs, where she consulted on media relations, crisis communications and government affairs.
