Three arrested in connection with assault; suspects linked to drive-by shooting last year

From staff reports

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery and kidnapping in Post Falls earlier this month.

The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force also believes the three individuals to be suspects in a drive-by shooting that occurred near Athol in November.

Korey T. Hines, 20, of Spokane and Zion E. Hansen, 18, and Noah P. Guinasso, 19, both of Coeur d’Alene, have been charged with robbery, kidnapping the first degree, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm at a residence.

On January 10, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Post Falls Police Department responded to a report of an assault – which officers later determined to be an attempted robbery of illegal drugs – of a juvenile at north Tinsmith Avenue and Mullan Avenue. Hines, Hansen and Guinasso were identified as suspects.

Further investigation by NIVCTF revealed that the three were also suspects in the Nov. 27 drive-by shooting, in which several shots struck an occupied residence. Detectives determined that the drive-by was in retaliation for remarks made on Facebook.
