Oregon golfer Justin Wiles leads after first round of Rosauers Open
Justin Wiles of Eagle Point (Oregon) Golf Club shot a 7-under-par 64 Friday to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the 31st Rosauers Open Invitational at Indian Canyon Golf Course.
Luke Baker of Deer Park Golf Club and amateur Ben DuBois of Fairwood Golf & Country Club of Renton, Washington, are one shot behind Wiles.
Wiles’ round consisted of one eagle, seven birdies and two bogeys.
Russell Grove (North Idaho College) and Jeff Coston (Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club) are tied for fourth at 66. Seven golfers are another shot back
There are 46 players at par or less after the first round. The 54-hole tournament will continue Saturday and conclude Sunday.
- Gigi Stoll of Tigard, Oregon, defeated Alivia Brown of Gig Harbor, Washington, 2 and 1 to win the 117th Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur Championship at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman. Also at Palouse Ridge, in a matchup of Portland golfers, Amanda Jacobs defeated Gretchen Johnson 4 and 2 to win the 17th Pacific Northwest Women’s Mid-Amateur.
