Suspect wanted after downtown bank robbery

Police are searching for a man in connection with the robbery of a downtown bank Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m., Spokane police responded to reports of a bank robbery at a U.S. Bank branch in the 400 block of Riverside Avenue. According to a Spokane Police Department news release, the man – described as white, around 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, with short dark hair and a tan, Carhartt-style jacket – entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money. Surveillance images show him passing a crumpled note across the counter.

He left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police. Officers were not able to locate the suspect, and an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
