San Diego uses homers to rally past Gonzaga in 11 innings, 5-4

SAN DIEGO – Kevin Collard hit a two-out pinch-hit three-run homer to tie the game in the ninth and freshman Shane McGuire’s first homer gave the San Diego Toreros (24-20, 14-10 West Coast Conference) the win in the 11th over the Gonzaga Bulldogs (21-27, 10-14) on Sunday.

Starter Mac Lardner went six innings for Gonzaga, giving up just one run on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Isaac Barrera and Ernie Yake had two hits, an RBI and a run scored each for Gonzaga, while Gunnar Schubert had two RBIs, a hit and reached base twice on walks.
