Man shot after fight in Spokane Valley; suspect wanted by police

Police arrested a man who allegedly shot another man in the arm at an apartment in Spokane Valley.

Matthias M. Piggot, 37, is facing charges for assault in the first degree and unlawful possession of a firearm first degree.

Spokane Valley Major Crimes detectives don’t believe it’s a random shooting, according to a news release from the Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Office.

Piggot allegedly fled in a white Chevy Impala after the shooting at about noon at 12500 E. Third Ave., the news release said.

The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, the news release said. His name is not being released by deputies.
