Deputies arrest man in connection with stabbing of juvenile

Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Wednesday months after he allegedly stabbed a juvenile in the parking lot of Mountainside Middle School in Colbert in the early hours of May 23.

The suspect, 22-year-old Daniil V. Bezzubenkov, admitted to committing the assault “while holding a ‘piece of metal’ in his hand,” he told detectives. He gave no motive for the stabbing.

Bezzubenkov was booked into Spokane County Jail on Wednesday and is being charged with second-degree assault. His bail was set at $250,000.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
