Woman dies from her own car rolling down a hill after she tried to park it

From staff reports

A woman died Friday after her vehicle, which she had attempted to park, rolled forward down a sloped driveway and pinned her to a fence.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident at 7:40 a.m. on the 11700 block of North Forker Road.

The woman was 59, according to a news release, but her identity is not being released until the next of kin is notified.

The woman “stopped on her long rural driveway and began to exit the vehicle. It appears the vehicle remained in gear, causing it to roll forward. She stayed with the vehicle but was unable to reenter to regain control. The vehicle continued to roll down the driveway and crashed into a fence,” according to a news release.
