House fire near Bridgeport leaves two unaccounted for

Two people escaped Sunday night when a fire tore through their home near Bridgeport, Washington, but another two residents remained unaccounted for Monday afternoon, according to Douglas County Sheriff Kevin Morris.

Deputies and firefighters were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. to the fire in the 700 block of Old Highland Orchard Road, Morris said.

The home, a doublewide trailer situated atop a daylight basement, was completely destroyed.

Investigators remained at the scene Monday afternoon, searching for the two missing residents and trying to determine what started the blaze.
