Prep softball: Alexis Mitchell spins shutout, Cheney sweeps doubleheader with Pullman

Alexis Mitchell allowed three hits with seven strikeouts and Cheney (4-3) shutout Pullman (1-5) 10-0 in the first game of a Greater Northern League doubleheader on Saturday.

Cheney 11, Pullman 6: Logan Krantz went 2 for 3 with a home run and the Blackhawks (5-3) swept the Grayhounds (1-6) in the second game of a doubleheader. Meghan McSweeney went 2 for 4 with four doubles for Pullman.

Northeast 2B

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 12, Tekoa-Rosalia 9: Colette Nichols drove in four runs on three hits and the Broncos (4-5) defeated the visiting Timberwolves (1-6) in the first game of a doubleheader. Hannah Brittain drove in a pair of runs with three hits of her own for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 12, Tekoa-Rosalia 2: Cailey Vallone allowed 4 hits and two runs and the Broncos (5-5) defeated the visiting Timberwolves (1-7) in the second game of a doubleheader.

Northeast 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 21, Cusick 3: Rory Pate went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Callie Pinar went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and the visiting Warriors (10-0) beat the Panthers (0-1) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 19, Cusick 7: Sarah Bradshaw went 4 for 4 with a double, two home runs and seven RBIS and the visiting Warriors (11-0) beat the Panthers (0-2) in the second game of a doubleheader. Sydney Cook had a double, a triple and four RBIs for Almira/Coulee-Hartline.

Inchelium 26, Wellpinit 0: Meika Heath pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and the Hornets (6-3) beat the visiting Redskins in the first game of a doubleheader. Cloey Simpson went 4 for 4 with four RBIs for Inchelium.

Inchelium 22, Wellpinit 0: Rylee Desautel pitched a no-hitter, went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and the Hornets (7-3) swept the visiting Redskins in a doubleheader.

Southeast 1B

Pomeroy 3, Colton 2: Keeley Maves plated the game-winning RBI and the visiting Pirates (6-0) defeated the Wildcats (3-2).

Colton 9, Pomeroy 7: Emily Schultheis pitched a complete game and added three RBIs and the Wildcats (4-2) beat the Pirates (6-1).

Nonleague

Selkirk 15, Wilbur-Creston 5: Jenna Couch went 4 for 4 with six RBIs and the visiting Rangers (3-4) beat the Wildcats (1-14) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Selkirk 28, Wilbur-Creston 14: Jenna Couch went 4 for 6 with six RBIs and the visiting Rangers (4-4) swept the Wildcats (1-15) in the second game of a doubleheader.

Colfax 13, Orofino 3: Justice Brown had three hits and the visiting Bulldogs (10-1) beat the Maniacs (3-6) in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader.

Colfax 13, Orofino 7: Abby Lobdell had three hits and the visiting Bulldogs (11-1) scored seven runs in the top of the seventh to beat the Maniacs (3-7) in the second game of a nonleague doubleheader.

Idaho

Lewiston 5, Coeur d’Alene 3: Isabelle Taylor scored on a sacrifice fly by Karli Taylor in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Bengals (3-6) beat the Vikings (4-3).

Lake City 11, Hermiston 0: Ashley Kaufman pitched five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and the Timerwolves (19-0) defeated the Bulldogs (13-5).
